Murrells Inlet

Okay for the beginners, let's start with how to pronounce this town's name!  Murrells is pronounced like the country music singer from way back, Merle Haggard.  It is not pronounced like a big painting on a wall known as a mural.  See what kind of wisdom you get on this website??

Now, another important piece of information for those who have visited Murrells Inlet area previously -- it's true, the goats are no longer at Goat Island near the Marshwalk.  After Hurricane Ian in September 2022, it was determined there was too much erosion and the tides left very little room for the goats to safely remain.  Of course, there are people trying to figure out a long-term plan for their return!

Goat Island is just one of the many things that makes Murrells Inlet so unique!  How can such a small town be so full of amazing things to offer??  On one side - the Waccamaw River highlighting the most beautiful botanical gardens in the Southeast - Brookgreen Gardens (and THEE BEST holiday light display in the country!), and on the other, the fun and relaxing vibe of famous Marshwalk. The restaurants must be mentioned - the Marshwalk hosts "Taste of the Marshwalk" in early Spring, but look beyond that area and you'll be amazed at the variety of restaurant choices Murrells Inlet has to offer!
